About the role

Reporting into the Program Manager you will drive quality, ensure compliance, and support product innovation of Coles brand products as part of the Own Brand team.  As a Product Technologist you will focus on packaging across our Own Brand products where you will leverage your food and or non-food technologist experience.  

This 18-month fixed term opportunity will see you be part of a pivotal project as part of our wider Own Brand team.  In this role you will be work with varied stakeholders to ensuring quality and compliance standards are met, with a particular focus on the packaging compliance.  You will be a custodian of safety, quality, legal compliance, usability, and reputation for our Own Brand portfolio.
 
You'll also:
•    Deliver new packaging updates to be included in content and design
•    Create value by supporting the execution of Own the brand strategy
•    Deliver supplier accountability and performance in quality and safety
•    Partner collaboratively with varied suppliers and across the category team in the support of new products and updates 
•    Strategic thinking to instigate and drive change in the industry
 

 

About you and your skills

Demonstrated background product technology in either food or non-food, manufacturing and/or retail environment would be desirable.  This role will certainly utilise your eye for detail and provide the ability to utilise your skill set to drive cost and initiatives with a continuous improvement mindset!
 
You'll also need:
•    A Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science or Agriculture or equivalent Industry experience 
•    Technical management experience
•    Understand labelling and ingredient declarations
•    Maintenance of specifications to ensure data is current, accurate and legal
•    Proven experience in supplier management, investigations, traceability, audit response and data analysis
•    Experience working with both international and local suppliers
•    Strong planning, time management and influencing skills
•    Stakeholder engagement, prioritisation skills and being able to juggle multiple projects at any one time
•    Integrity in your approach to work
•    A positive attitude, with a sense of humour
