About the role

Reporting into the Own Brand Manager, you will drive quality, ensure compliance, and support product innovation of Coles brand products within the Meat & Poultry team. We run an integrated model from paddock to plate so always something new and interesting to work on.

 

What you'll be doing

As a Product Technologist within the Meat & Poultry team, you will be working with packaged goods; ensuring quality and compliance standards are met – whilst driving product innovation. You will be a custodian of safety, quality, legal compliance, usability, and reputation for Own Brand products.

 

You'll also:

  • Create value by executing the brand strategy.
  • Land new innovative products, reviewing past product performance and driving commercial outcomes.
  • Deliver supplier accountability and performance in quality and safety.
  • Engage and collaborate strategically with category teams and suppliers.
  • Strategic thinking to instigate and drive change in the Industry.

 

Good things you'll need

Demonstrated experience working in food production facilities preferably meat focused and/or a FMCG, manufacturing and/or retail environment.

 

You'll also need:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, or related field.
  • Significant, relevant experience in meat or a particular protein, or related subject.
  • Technical management experience.
  • Understand labelling and ingredient declarations.
  • Maintenance of specifications to ensure data is current, accurate and legal.
  • Proven experience in investigations, audit response and data analysis.
  • Experience working with both international and local suppliers.
  • Strong planning, time management and influencing skills.
  • Stakeholder engagement, prioritisation skills and being able to juggle multiple projects at any one time.
  • The ability to travel within Australia.
  • Integrity in your approach to work.
  • A positive attitude, with a sense of humour.
