About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for a technically skilled Product Manager to join the Digital Engineering and Data team, reporting to the Senior Manager of Data and Business Intelligence, in a Full-Time and Permanent capacity. An opportunity to shape the data future of one of Australia's most prominent retailers while working with cutting-edge data technologies and a talented team of data professionals.
As a Product Manager, this is a unique opportunity to support Coles’ digital-wide function by evolving their reporting and analytics capability through Snowflake and Power BI. Embedded in a fast-paced and cross-functional environment, this role will act as a bridge between the product and technical teams, whilst building out a new roadmap!
In this role, you can expect to:
- Responsible for creating a roadmap for their product squad that delivers high quality customer experiences and improves business metrics
- Utilizes OKRs to define objectives and key success measures for their squads
- Defines backlog with their Squads, partners with the crew lead to ensure the backlog aligns with the business and product strategies. Frame product backlog in context of bigger picture and larger product roadmap and strategy
- Manages and prioritises backlog to deliver on their quarterly objectives and key commercial outcomes
- Accountable for the results (customer/business outcome) of their squads
- Works closely with Product Managers across Crews to manage dependencies and risk
- Communicates to stakeholders on progress of initiatives
- Provide technical leadership within our Data and BI team, collaborating on architecture decisions and implementation approaches
About you and your skills:
You will have prior experience in a hands-on technical role within the Data space, such as a Data Engineer, Data Analyst or similar, and looking to expand your career as a Product Manager.
In your toolkit you will have:
- At least 2+ year of experience in product management within a technical / data environment.
- Demonstrated and strong hands-on technical experience across data, enterprise data platforms, data warehouses, or similar.
- Previous experience working with Snowflake and Power BI leveraging SQL, Python and DAX.
- Working knowledge of data warehousing concepts, ETL processes, and data modelling
- Demonstrated experience working in a dynamic and cross-functional environment.
- Ability to understand technical dependencies between systems and data flows.
- Experience in building or supporting self-service analytics platforms.
- Experience working in fast paced environments and comfortable with change.
- Skilled in working collaboratively with business stakeholders, analysts, architects and designers.
- Excellent communication both verbally and written.
