About the role

A newly created role that will see you landing and maintaining new and current products, whilst also delivering the safety, legality, compliance, responsible sourcing, ethical sourcing and repeatable quality of Own Brand products in their portfolio, in accordance with the Own Brand strategy & product plan.


What you’ll be doing

  • Delivering supplier accountability & performance in safety, legality, compliance, responsible sourcing, ethical sourcing and repeatable quality.
  • Create value by executing brand strategy, product maintenance, quality enhancements, launching newness & creating production and process efficiencies.
  • Work with numerous cross-functional teams to understand customer needs, insure effective Own Brand representation and to develop Coles Brand products.
  • To work with the Coles Brands teams to communicate, present and deliver products as part of the ‘foodie’ education programme.
  • To project manage and launch right first-time end to end product and packaging delivery and ongoing quality standards.


Good things you’ll need

  • A Degree Qualification in Food Science.
  • Lead Food Safety / Quality auditing qualification preferred but not mandatory.
  • Significant relevant industry experience in food or relevant subject matter expertise.
  • Demonstrated experience working in retail or food service supply base, or with retailers in similar categories.
  • Strong planning, time management skills and critical path/project management.
  • Proven experience in supplier management, investigations, audit response and data analysis.
  • Experience working with legislation, internal policy and guidelines.
  • Strong stakeholder influence and management skills, with the ability to engage and present to different audiences.
  • Financial reporting and analysis of consumer data (for e.g. market share, sales, margin).
  • Experienced in working with international & small suppliers to deliver product innovation and essential safety controls.
