About the role

 

Are you passionate about creating products customers love? Join us as a Product Developer within Coles Own Brand and help shape innovative, high‑quality products that deliver exceptional taste, value and experience.

 

In this specialist role, you’ll bring ideas to life from concept through to launch, partnering closely with suppliers, technical experts, and internal teams to deliver award‑winning, customer‑centric ranges.

 

Reporting to the Product Development Manager, you will play a pivotal role in developing commercially focused product plans that not only meet business objectives but elevate the Coles Own Brand offering.

 

You’ll also:

  • Develop strategic product plans aligned to Own Brand guardrails and category strategy
  • Deliver food or non-food product solutions that are commercially sound, innovative and meet quality expectations
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally to embed Own Brand in commercial planning processes
  • Analyse financial and performance reports, taking action to meet category goals
  • Drive operational excellence through timely, compliant and successful product launches
  • Build strong, transparent supplier relationships to support innovation and sourcing outcomes
  • Present new products at tastings, roadshows and key internal events
  • Ensure compliance with external regulations and internal standards, escalating issues where required

 

 

About you and your skills

 

You’re a natural problem solver, a collaborator and a creator; someone who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and is passionate about delivering high‑quality products customers will love. Prior experience launching products into the market is essential in this role, along with strong technical knowledge, excellent stakeholder instincts, and a commercial mindset that helps turn great ideas into real‑world success.

 

You’ll also ideally have:

  • Significant industry experience, ideally across FMCG, manufacturing or retail
  • Expertise in end to end project management from analysis, concept and launch to ongoing quality improvement/maintenance  
  • Experience influencing, negotiating and building relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers
  • Experience writing and delivering strategic product plans
  • Strong planning, prioritisation and project management capability
  • A current driver’s license
