About the team
Our Technology team is the backbone of the business, building and maintaining the information technology infrastructure that support Coles Group. As a part of the Technology team, you get the opportunity to work through complex, challenging, meaningful problems using large data sets and new technologies to expand your skills and experience.
About the Role
As a Product Analyst, you will play a critical role in supporting product discovery, design, and delivery through data-driven insights and strong business analysis practices.
You’ll work closely with Product Managers, Engineers, Architects, QA, and business stakeholders to understand customer behaviour, business processes, and product performance translating these into clear requirements and actionable insights.
This role blends BA execution with product thinking, ensuring solutions are not only well-defined but also aligned to strategic objectives and deliver real value.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse customer behaviour, user journeys, and product performance to support discovery and inform product decisions
- Translate business needs into clear user stories, acceptance criteria, and process flows (As-Is / To-Be)
- Ensure backlog readiness, including defining business rules, assumptions, and maintaining traceability to outcomes
- Facilitate workshops and backlog refinement sessions, driving clarity and alignment across teams
- Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Engineers, and QA to support delivery, testing, and defect resolution
- Act as a key point of contact for requirement clarification throughout the delivery lifecycle
- Drive stakeholder alignment and communication, ensuring shared understanding of scope, priorities, and outcomes
About you & your skills
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst, Product Analyst, or Product Owner within Agile, cross-functional teams
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business needs into clear, buildable, and testable requirements
- Experience supporting product discovery, using data, insights, and research to inform decisions
- Confident working with technical teams, with an understanding of system behaviour, integrations, and delivery processes
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and facilitation skills, with the ability to drive alignment and outcomes
- Hands-on experience with user stories, acceptance criteria, and backlog management
- Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Confluence, and process mapping tools
- Exposure to data and analytics tools (e.g. Excel, SQL, Tableau, Power BI) is advantageous
- Background in retail or similar complex environments is highly regarded
