About the role 

 

We have an opportunity for an experienced Procurement Specialist to join the Coles Procurement team. This role is responsible for supporting Category Managers with a range of procurement activities, including analytical reporting, reporting on performance of initiatives, identifying risks and opportunities, and engaging stakeholders throughout strategy development and sourcing processes.

 

You will also be responsible for;

  • Maintaining the Initiative Tracker, Contract Repository and Initiative Folders, ensuring benefits are effectively tracked and reported while supporting the endorsement and approval of initiatives
  • Managing sourcing activities, prioritising and rebalancing against business objectives
  • Supporting RFx process as directed by Category Managers
  • Providing analytical and operational support for strategic sourcing, SRM, contract performance management, reporting and other procurement activities
  • Supporting Category Managers in creating insights from data sets and market intelligence sources
  • Conducting TCO, commodities management, benchmarking and other analysis to enable better decision and management of suppliers and spend categories
  • Collaborating and communicating regularly with stakeholders to ensure alignment of objectives to build a clear understanding of requirements for third party goods and services 
     

 

About you and your skills 

 

Our ideal candidate will bring strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, along with a high level of personal integrity and ethics. You’ll have solid researching and networking skills, as well as the enthusiasm to learn more about your suppliers, stakeholders, and procurement in general. 

 

You will also ideally have; 

  • Related tertiary qualification, ideally with Commerce, Supply Chain Management, Law or Property category
  • Competent in Ariba, Excel, PowerPoint, Project and e-procurement tools/systems
  • Demonstrated understanding of basic Australian contract law as it relates to the purchase and supply or goods and services
  • Strong business acumen and negotiation skills gained in major projects and contract negotiations
  • Highly developed commercial experience, possibly gained in other large commercial/FMCG/Retail enterprises
