We partner with all areas of the business to develop and execute sourcing and contracting strategies that innovatively deliver sustainable value to our customers.

 

About the role 

We have an opportunity for an experienced Procurement Specialist to join the team. This role will see you supporting our Category Managers with analytical requirements to support the development of strategies, as well implementing sourcing initiatives that ensure delivery of business plans.

 

You will also be responsible for;

  • Maintaining the Initiative Tracker, Contract Repository and Initiative Folders, ensuring benefits are effectively tracked and reported while supporting the endorsement and approval of initiatives
  • Leading the full sourcing process including development of scope, supplier selection/evaluation, commercial negotiation, risk mitigation and contract execution, ensuring appropriate business involvement at all stages of the process
  • Provide analytical and operational support for strategic sourcing, SRM, contract performance management, reporting and other procurement activities
  • Conduct TCO, should cost, commodities management, benchmarking and other analysis to enable better decision making and management of suppliers and spend categories
  • Lead and support RFx process as directed by Category Managers


About you and your skills 

We are looking for an experienced Procurement Specialist with a strong analytical skillset, and deep value chain management knowledge to look for value beyond the savings via efficiency and quality benefits.


You will also have;

  • Related tertiary qualification, ideally within commerce, supply chain management, law or property categories
  • Strong commercial acumen, possibly gained in other large commercial/FMCG/Retail enterprise
  • Strong experience in procurement or in the commercial management industry
  • Research and networking skills to ensure Coles is at the forefront of industry leading practices and strategic trends
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills
