About the role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced privacy professional to support the evolution of the organisation's Privacy Management Framework and help shape the future of privacy governance. Working across a large and complex business, you will influence enterprise-wide initiatives, strengthen privacy controls, and play a key role in preparing the organisation for evolving regulatory and technology-driven privacy challenges

Reporting to the Group Privacy Compliance Manager, the Privacy Manager will play a key role in championing a culture of privacy-by-design across the organisation. You will partner with stakeholders across the business to provide practical privacy advice and support a diverse range of strategic, operational and technology initiatives, ensuring privacy obligations, risk considerations and customer trust are embedded from the outset.

You’ll also:

• Develop privacy policies, procedures, training and/or guidance to ensure privacy compliance and develop / implement corrective action plans where required
• Support identification, assessment, and management of privacy compliance obligations and risks as applicable to their business unit, business processes, and supporting systems
• Conduct privacy impact risk assessments to ensure privacy risks are understood and mitigation plans are in place
• Provide advice and guidance to team on privacy regulatory issues management
• Support programs to respond to potential data breaches
• Support stakeholders in understanding their role and responsibilities with respect to their privacy compliance obligations

About you and your skills
 

• Proven experience working in privacy compliance
• Advanced skills in designing, developing, and operationalising privacy frameworks in business activities and processes
• Excellent understanding of privacy laws and regulations applicable to Australian regulatory environment
• Strong project management, problem solving, communication, and negotiation skills
• Proven ability to identify and translate legislation into simple and clear business procedure
• Proven experience developing relationships and engaging regularly with a variety of stakeholders, including senior managers in a challenging environment
• Ability to effectively manage competing priorities and complete tasks/projects in a timely manner and to a high standard
• Tertiary degree in risk management, law or relevant discipline. Industry certifications highly regarded e.g. CIPM, CIPT
