About the team

 

Our Technology team is the backbone of the business, building and maintaining the information technology infrastructure that support Coles Group. As a part of the Technology team, you get the opportunity to work through complex, challenging, meaningful problems using large data sets and new technologies to expand your skills and experience.

We’re looking for a PMO Tools & Governance Analyst to play a key role in shaping, governing, and optimising our PMO tools, processes, and portfolio management practices. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about PPM strategy, automation, and enabling data-driven decision-making across a dynamic delivery environment.

About the Role

As the PMO Tools & Governance Analyst, you will be responsible for providing expert oversight across our PMO platforms, ensuring they support efficient portfolio planning, transparency, and governance. You will lead our PPM tool strategy, drive continuous improvement, and partner closely with stakeholders at all levels to uplift process maturity and maximise value across the

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert governance and oversight of PMO tools and platforms, ensuring alignment with organisational standards and compliance requirements.
  • Lead PPM tool strategy, including configuration, user access management, and lifecycle maintenance.
  • Define and optimise processes for financial tracker support and governance deliverables such as Business Cases, Variations, and Project Closures.
  • Drive automation initiatives to integrate financial tracking and reporting within PPM systems—reducing manual effort, increasing accuracy, and improving efficiency.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for tool-related enhancements, vendor engagement, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Support ongoing PMO capability uplift by identifying areas for improvement and implementing pragmatic, value-adding solutions.

About you and your skills:

  • You will bring strong technical capability, a continuous improvement mindset, and the ability to build trusted partnerships across the organisation.
  • You’re comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment and influencing stakeholders at all levels.
  • At least 5 years’ IT experience within a PMO or Consulting role, operating in either waterfall or agile environments and contributing to large-scale programs.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills, enabling effective communication and relationship management with peers, vendors, partners, and senior executives.
  • Demonstrated experience working with senior stakeholders, including influencing, presenting, and managing expectations.
  • Strong experience supporting continuous improvement initiatives within a PMO.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose issues and provide practical solutions.
  • The ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
