About the role
We currently have two fixed-term P&C Project Lead opportunities available, ranging from 8 to 10 months in duration.
As a P&C Project Lead, you will lead the people and change workstream across complex business programs and initiatives, partnering closely with Operations, Corporate functions, P&C teams and other cross-functional stakeholders.
You will bring together project delivery, change leadership and stakeholder engagement to translate broader program objectives into practical people outcomes. This is a hands-on role for someone who is comfortable creating clarity from ambiguity, coordinating cross-functional contributors, and maintaining momentum across multiple priorities.
You will have ownership for how the people and change workstream is planned, delivered, implemented and embedded, with a strong focus on stakeholder readiness, adoption and sustainable outcomes.
Responsibilities:
End-to-end delivery
- Lead end-to-end delivery of the people and change workstream within assigned business programs and initiatives, from initiation and planning through to implementation, go-live, handover, embedding and post-implementation review.
- Develop and manage integrated delivery plans, timelines, milestones, risks, issues, dependencies and implementation activities.
- Drive initiative momentum, problem solving and escalation management across all phases of work.
- Lead and coordinate cross-functional workstreams and drive outcomes through influence.
- Ensure people and change activities remain aligned to broader program objectives, agreed delivery standards and organisational priorities.
- Role model accountability, collaboration and a strong focus on implementation and adoption.
Integrated project and change leadership
- Integrate project management and change management activities into a single, practical delivery approach.
- Lead stakeholder engagement, communications, change impact assessment, readiness activities and adoption planning throughout the program lifecycle.
- Translate broader program impacts into clear people, workforce, capability and change requirements.
- Facilitate workshops, planning sessions, implementation activities and decision-making forums as required.
- Support successful transition into ongoing operations and monitor implementation outcomes and benefits where required.
- Ensure delivery approaches consider implementation feasibility, stakeholder readiness, operational impact and adoption requirements.
Stakeholder engagement and collaboration
- Build trusted relationships with project sponsors, business owners, P&C stakeholders and cross-functional contributors.
- Partner effectively with Operations, Corporate functions and subject matter experts to deliver agreed people and change outcomes.
- Provide clear communication on progress, decisions, risks, dependencies and required actions.
- Work with stakeholders to clarify scope, outcomes, responsibilities, milestones and governance expectations.
- Prepare clear options, recommendations and escalation items to support timely decision-making.
- Navigate competing priorities and manage stakeholder expectations constructively.
Delivery governance and controls
- Maintain fit-for-purpose delivery artefacts, including plans, risk and issue logs, status reporting, governance materials, decision logs and implementation plans.
- Apply agreed delivery standards, templates and governance requirements in a practical way appropriate to the scale and complexity of the initiative.
- Identify, manage and escalate delivery risks, issues, dependencies and blockers.
- Ensure delivery reporting is accurate, timely and useful for portfolio and program oversight.
- Contribute to effective go-live, handover, post-implementation review, benefits tracking and transition into ongoing operations.
Team leadership and support
- Provide day-to-day leadership and direction to Project Advisors or other project resources where assigned.
- Set clear expectations, priorities and deliverables for team members supporting the workstream.
- Provide practical coaching and delivery guidance to help others contribute effectively.
About you:
- Demonstrated experience leading complex projects, transformation initiatives, change programs or business improvement work.
- Experience leading the people and change component of broader operational, corporate or enterprise programs would be highly regarded.
- Strong project delivery capability across planning, governance, risks, issues, dependencies, implementation and stakeholder reporting.
- Experience integrating project management and change management activities to support successful implementation and adoption.
- Confident engaging senior stakeholders, facilitating workshops and driving decisions in complex environments.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional workstreams and drive outcomes through influence.
- Comfortable working through ambiguity, competing priorities and changing program requirements.
- Strong communication, organisation, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience supporting transition to ongoing operations, adoption planning and benefits tracking is desirable.
