About the role

 

The People & Culture Business Partner supports leaders by delivering people initiatives that align with business priorities and helps drive performance, engagement, talent and capability outcomes. Working in partnership with Centres of Expertise and Central P&C teams, the role contributes to workforce, talent, succession and capability planning, provides trusted advice and support to leaders, and helps implement strategic people programs and initiatives that build organisational capability and support business performance.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Understand the client group's business priorities and identify opportunities for the application of P&C frameworks and tools; contribute to their deployment through coaching of functional leaders and in collaboration with colleagues.
  • Provide specialist advice and coaching to business stakeholders on a range of HR matters, including related to strategic opportunities, business activities and projects, to support business decision making and to resolve queries and issues.
  • Deliver complex analyses of P&C data; identify key trends and contribute to the creation of insights that enable the diagnosis of business issues and creation of solutions to enhance employee engagement and/or improve of business performance.
  • Contribute to the implementation of performance management and talent development processes and initiatives; clarify and respond to business needs and issues related to performance and talent; and monitor and report on outcomes, proposing remedial actions were necessary.
  • Support and contribute to cultural, structural and operational change initiatives by providing analysis and recommendations, contributing to effective engagement and communication, coordinating activity, and monitoring progress and timelines.
  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships within the partnering team and across P&C, working in partnership to understand needs, constraints and priorities and share information to enable value creation for the business.

 

Must have experience

 

  • Applying and implementing P&C practices, frameworks and methodologies in a HR generalist or partnering role.
  • Identifying business needs and people-related solutions through sophisticated engagement with a client or group.
  • Designing and implementing strategies, plans and solutions aligned to business needs, including coaching business leaders throughout implementation.
  • Planning and managing multiple, concurrent projects and workstreams within a dynamic and changing work environment.
  • Mitigating blocks and issues that impact delivery of strategic projects and change programs, demonstrating resilience in the face of challenges.
  • Using data and research to identify issues and opportunities, including bringing an external perspective and applying it to the organisation's context and agenda.
  • Understanding and exploring the latest thinking and approaches to contemporary P&C and talent practices and translates these into simple business terms and actionable recommendations.
  • Acts as an internal consultant to understand the priorities of different stakeholders, identify problems and collaboratively design solutions; appropriately influences and challenges to support the delivery of business strategy and plans; engages in a way that inspires confidence and trust with stakeholders.
  • Identify trends in data and interrogates insights to understand underlying issues, identify new opportunities and generate meaningful insights and stories out of data; uses and presents analyses to inform and influence decisions; identifies ways to enhance information and reporting.
  • Supporting and delivering change management activity, with a particular focus on engagement in the process to achieve outcomes that support the organisation's overall strategy and improve process.
  • Challenging assumptions and biases when interpreting data and questions; brings broad and holistic perspectives to the analysis and evaluation of information to understand longer-term implications and possible outcomes.
  • Exploring, shares and applies contemporary and emerging concepts, tools and processes, influences, coaches and mentors others as a subject matter expert.
