About the team

Our Commercial team is a large, but a close-knit group of trading experts, who are ready to shape the future of Coles. We pride ourselves on the long-lasting supplier relationships we build, the new ideas we develop and how passionately we work to help Australian eat and live better every day. And the best part? We’re all so different. We bring diversity of thought, backgrounds, and experience to every Business Unit across Coles Supermarkets and Liquor.

About the Role

We’re looking for a data-driven, commercially savvy professional to champion insights and analytics across our Own Brand portfolio. If you thrive on turning data into actionable strategies and influencing business decisions, this role is for you.

As the Own Brand Performance Manager, you’ll be the strategic link between our Own Brand and Commercial teams. Your mission is to deliver insights that drive growth, profitability, and customer satisfaction. You’ll lead analysis of financial, customer, and operational data, develop dashboards and scorecards, and support business cases for new initiatives.

You’ll also:

  • Analyse product, brand, and category performance to identify risks and opportunities
  • Build and maintain dashboards, reports, and scorecards to track key metrics
  • Develop business cases and strategy papers through robust data modelling
  • Ensure accurate, timely reporting for senior leadership and governance
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align insights with transformation initiatives

About you and your skills

Our ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a passion for data and commercial outcomes. You combine your analytical experience in the retail, FMCG or consultancy industries with strong analytical skills with the ability to tell a compelling story through data, powered by your proficiency in Excel, data visualisation tools, financial modelling and business case development. Most importantly, you’re collaborative, detail-oriented, and able to communicate complex insights in a clear, actionable way.

You’ll also ideally have:

  • Tertiary qualification in Business, Analytics, Economics, or related field
  • Proven experience in business analysis, insights, or commercial analytics within FMCG/retail or consultancy
  • Strong analytical and data interpretation skills with high attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Excel and data visualisation tools (Power BI, Tableau)
  • Experience in financial modelling and business case development
  • Ability to communicate insights clearly to non-technical stakeholders
