About the role

Our Coles distribution team work hard to deliver quality goods from suppliers right to your door and so we’re looking for an exceptional Shift Manager to join our brand-new Customer Fulfillment Centre! This is an incredible opportunity to be involved in the commissioning of a supermarkets fulfilment centre, first of its kind nationally.


Located in Wetherill Park this unique facility will utilise state of the art technology, robotics and automation to deliver outstanding service to customers.

You’ll combine your leadership and passion to drive a culture of operational excellence within our distribution centre. With a focus on energizing, empowering and supporting your team you'll help deliver the operational output required, always keeping safety and compliance front of mind.


Primary Duties Include:

  • Managing day to day operations in the facility and providing operational leadership, direction and support to team in order to achieve optimal performance
  • Ensure continual review, improvement and maintenance of operational activities to drive efficiency, service, safety engagement and value.
  • Ensure continuous flow of stock and taking immediate corrective action as required (initiating problem solving as applicable). Leading trouble shooting and root cause analysis.
  • Ensuring all work carried out adheres to quality, compliance, safety, reliability and cost requirements
  • Drive engagement at all levels of the business, facilitate the sharing of ideas in a way that supports achievement of KPIs and drives continuous improvement
  • Sponsor and lead change initiatives, including partnering with support functions throughout Online Fulfilment and other business units.

You will also:

  • You’ll be a genuine ‘people leader’ that fosters a culture of equality, diversity and inclusion with a demonstrated ability of building and leading high performing teams sized 80+.
  • Boast extensive experience with performance metrics, process improvement and Lean methodologies.
  • Possess strong operational experience in Manufacturing, Warehousing, Automation, Online Fulfilment or Retail.
  • Demonstrated commitment and adherence to safety practices.
