About the team

 

Our Technology team is the backbone of the business, building and maintaining the information technology infrastructure that support Coles Group. As a part of the Technology team, you get the opportunity to work through complex, challenging, meaningful problems using large data sets and new technologies to expand your skills and experience.

About the role                                                                                 

Reporting to the Team Lead – Network Services, you will provide technical experience across complex and business-enabling initiatives and offer ongoing operational and project support across a large and complex network environment.

You will be the main escalation point for Level 3 operational support related issue or service and provide the best network and network support experience to Coles’ team members, and its partners and customers. You will be responsible for developing automation solutions to improve the efficiency of the Coles’ network operations.

 

As the Network Engineer, you will offer operational and project support across Coles’ large and mission-critical network. Joining a team of seasoned and highly experienced engineers, you will provide support through the lifecycle of large enterprise networks by working on business-critical issues across multiple offices, distribution centres, technical picking sites, and retail locations.

 

About you and your skills:

 

  • Demonstrated intermediate level hands on experience in network automation using Python
  • In-depth knowledge of Cisco network technologies such as routing and switching - essential.
  • Commercial expertise working across a large corporate network environment working on new projects, and offering Level 3 support across Cisco - essential. 
  • A drive to learn and develop new skills across other network related services and solutions.
  • Experience in supporting management, stakeholders, and vendors across functional and technical issues.

 

You’ll also need

  • Cisco CCNP or similar work experience
  • Cisco technologies; SDWAN, SD-Access, Data Centre Switching, ACI , WAN, LAN, WIFI, Voice
  • In depth understanding of network concepts (LAN/WAN/routing/switching)
  • Knowledge in network automation using Python and network automation Tools.
  • Knowledge of Network management and monitoring tools.
  • Experience in software testing and cisco software life management.
  • Practical experience of DNS and DHCP technology changes
  • Demonstrable technical end user service restoration skills
  • The self-motivation, reliability, and proven ability to work as part of a technical team
  • NETOPS would be advantages with associated programming skills
  • Knowledge of Network Support tools; packet tracing, etc
