About the role
Coles 360 is seeking a Media Planning Manager to lead a growing team in developing and executing media strategies that connect with our customers across multiple channels. This role is pivotal in shaping how we plan, buy, and optimize media to drive measurable impact for Coles and our partners.
You will be responsible for building innovative media plans, negotiating with vendors, and ensuring campaigns are delivered with precision and creativity. As a leader, you’ll coach your team to excel in media planning while fostering strong collaboration with creative, marketing, and vendor partners.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement media strategies aligned with marketing objectives and target audience demographics.
- Analyse market trends and consumer behaviour to optimize media plans.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with media vendors to secure competitive pricing and added-value opportunities.
- Negotiate media buys, pricing, and placement scheduling with vendors.
- Conduct research to identify target audiences and media consumption habits.
- Refine media strategies using demographic data and market research.
- Monitor and analyse campaign performance, providing actionable insights and recommendations.
- Utilise analytics tools to track KPIs and measure campaign effectiveness.
- Collaborate with creative teams to ensure ad formats and placements align with media strategies.
- Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and new media opportunities.
- Recommend innovative media solutions to enhance campaign impact
Key Experience Required
- Experience with Sponsored Products, Onsite Display, Offsite Media, and In-Store Media.
- Strong leadership and management skills.
- Proficiency in Excel and media planning tools/software.
- Excellent relationship-building and communication skills.
- Initiative-driven, forward-thinking, resourceful, and curious.
- Ability to work cross-functionally across departments.
- High degree of digital and media savvy, with enthusiasm for emerging trends.
