Join a major logistics transformation program that is redefining how millions of Australians receive their groceries. Working within Coles Digital, this role will support the optimisation of Coles’ two state-of-the-art Customer Fulfilment Centres (CFCs) and last-mile delivery network through advanced analytics, operational insights, and data science.

About the role

As the Logistics Analyst / Data Scientist, you’ll partner with Operations, Product, Finance, and Technology teams to deliver insights and analytics that drive smarter fulfilment and delivery decisions.

You’ll analyse transportation, fleet, and fulfilment data using tools such as Python, SQL, Power BI, and Tableau to identify opportunities for optimisation across delivery performance, route efficiency, and cost-to-serve.

 

Key responsibilities

  • Analyse large transportation, fulfilment, and fleet datasets
  • Support optimisation across Coles’ Customer Fulfilment Centres (CFCs) and last-mile network
  • Develop dashboards, automated reporting, and scalable analytics solutions
  • Apply advanced analytics, forecasting, optimisation, or modelling techniques to operational challenges
  • Identify and quantify savings opportunities and operational improvements
  • Build business cases and track benefits post-implementation
  • Partner with stakeholders to turn insights into actionable outcomes

 

About you

You’re an analytically minded problem solver who enjoys working with complex datasets and translating insights into business impact.

  • Business Intelligence Analyst
  • Data Scientist

What you’ll bring

  • Experience in logistics, fulfilment, supply chain analytics, or data science within a complex environment
  • Strong Python capability (mandatory)
  • Advanced SQL and dashboarding skills (Power BI/Tableau)
  • Experience working with large operational datasets
  • Exposure to predictive modelling, optimisation, forecasting, or experimentation techniques
  • Understanding of last-mile logistics, TMS/WMS systems, or fulfilment operations highly regarded
  • Strong commercial and stakeholder engagement skills
