Property looks after one of Australia’s most dynamic portfolios. With an extensive footprint of over 1,800 retail outlets nationally, we’re growing every day. Our team manages every one of these locations, and we work together with our business units on all thing’s property, from site acquisition through to asset management.
About the role
This is an opportunity to help shape where future Coles stores are located and how our network grows. As a Location Planner, you will combine data analysis and geographical insights to support decisions about where Coles should open, expand or evolve stores. You will work with a range of internal stakeholders to translate data into clear insights that inform location strategy and network planning.

What you will do
In this role you will analyse demographic, sales and market data alongside geographic insights to support the long-term growth of the Coles store network. Working closely with property, leasing and senior stakeholders, you will help develop insights, forecasts and recommendations that inform location planning decisions.
You will also
• Use geographical information systems to assess trade areas, store performance and growth opportunities
• Assist with sales forecasting and modelling to support new store and renewal proposals
• Prepare insights and reports that support location planning recommendations
• Support the ongoing improvement of forecasting tools, models and analytical approaches.
About you and your skills
You enjoy working with data / geographic information to solve problems and identify opportunities. You are curious about how locations, customers and markets influence retail performance and you are comfortable translating data into clear insights that others can understand and act on.
We are open to graduates / candidates 2+ years of relevant working experience. This could include backgrounds in spatial analysis, urban planning, economics or data analysis, with an evident passion for developing a career in location planning.
You will also have
• Exposure to geographical information systems or spatial analysis tools
• Strong computer literacy and data analysis capability
• Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
• Awareness of forecasting or modelling methodologies used to analyse performance
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to interpret complex information.
