Are you a passionate employment lawyer looking to make a significant impact in a supportive environment? We are seeking a (3+ years PQE) Employment Lawyer to join our team.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  

  • Strategic Legal Advice: provide strategic legal advice on a broad range of employment law matters, including litigation, daily employment issues, investigations, transactions, disciplinary actions, discrimination cases, safety matters, and termination issues.  

  • Conducting litigation and advising on contentious disputes involving individuals. This includes acting in or partnering with our external law firm partners to conduct litigation in the Fair Work Commission, anti-discrimination tribunals and Federal Courts.  

  • Advising on sensitive workplace investigations, regulatory matters, executive employment, legislative reform, employment related compliance and psychosocial risk.  

  • Working on the strategic employment aspects of transactions, including partnering with external counsel and helping the business with employment related issues like retention or outsourcing. 

  • Legal governance of strategic enterprise wide matters, such as psychosocial risk frameworks.  

  

 

About You and Your Skills:

  

  • Qualifications: Legal qualification and current practicing certificate.  

  • Experience: 3+ years PQE in employment law, with a proven track record in litigation at the Fair Work Commission.  

  • Expertise: Managing complex employment law matters in large organisations, ideally ASX listed.  

  • Preferred Background: Significant private practice, ideally combined with in-house, secondment, and/or workplace relations experience.  

  • Skills: Ability to manage a variety of stakeholders, strong litigation skills in the Fair Work Commission, handle change in a fast-paced environment, strong interpersonal and influencing skills, client and results-focused, motivated with a can-do attitude, and adept at multi-tasking and managing competing priorities.
