Our Customer Experience and Technology (CXT) team within our eCommerce function is significantly growing as we continue to invest in delivering the best digital shopping experience for our Customers. Our Digital Experience team is now seeking a Lead Design Researcher to join their growing team.

What you’ll be doing

As a Lead Design Researcher you will be influencing a team of researchers, designers, product and engineers across research, ideation and strategy. You will be involved in creating leading digital experiences for the Coles Group platforms, delivering compelling, consistent and accessible experiences for B2C/B2B customers.


You'll also

  • Deliver a customer-led approach to product teams by championing the user through all conversations and projects
  • Align output to the Coles Customer Experience Strategy, Business Strategy, and Digital Strategy
  • Work closely with business unit stakeholders and technology delivery to ensure experiences are desirable, feasible and viable
  • Drive a culture of collaboration with research, design, product and engineering teams and external agencies
  • Support Managers to build up the research capability and toolkits within the wider Design and Digital Experience team


Good things you'll need

  • Extensive experience as a Design Researcher or similar, with skills such as user testing, problem framing, qualative and quantative research methods

  • Extesive experience supporting digital channels for large, complex organisations requiring stakeholder management 

  • Experience in project leadership and team mentoring 

  • Experience communicating and rationalising feedback and decisions alongside feasibility

  • Experience building research processes and toolkits for teams.

  • A demonstrated capability in creating well informed and customer lead insights to best lead product teams

  • Skilled in translating business process and customer behaviours/insights into simple and articulate concepts 

  • Experience working in a digital-first organisation with a strong customer-centric focus

  • Highly collaborative style, able to engage with a diverse range of stakeholders

  • Demonstrated experience in Human Centred Thinking
