Our Technology team is the backbone of the business, building and maintaining the information technology infrastructure that support Coles Group. About the role
 
We are looking for an Iteration Manager to facilitate continuous delivery of payment solutions to our merchants utilising our API Gateway platform. 

This role will be responsible for facilitating the team with all Agile ceremonies (e.g. stand-up, planning/grooming, retrospectives) and offer coaching on Scrum/Agile Principles as well as working closely with our key external delivery partners. 

Furthermore, you will be an escalation point and assist the team to identify internal or external hurdles and potential opportunities for continuous improvement.

You have exceptional stakeholder and vendor management skills, and have previous experience building and implementing stakeholder management strategies and balancing execution efficiency with risk mitigation. You have the ability to make effective decisions in complex situations and understand when escalation and syndication is needed. 

Vendor and partner management experience is also required to manage relationships within and outside the business, including vendors, customers and colleagues. You will work with our partners to understand their constraints and incentives, and ensure collaborations are mutually beneficial

Previous experience with payment gateways, is a core requirement for this role.
 
Key responsibilities:
 
•    Lead delivery backlog and cross team delivery
•    Coach delivery squads through the delivery pipeline in line with Coles technology program of works
•    Help the team to make their work transparent. Including conversations with stakeholders as changes and issues arise, iteration reporting and showcases to stakeholders.
•    Facilitate the planning and execution of iterations, ensuring that the squad is delivering value in a timely manner Backlog grooming and feature elaboration.
•    Act as a liaison between the squad and other teams or departments, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
•    Engage stakeholders and conducting or participating in workshops to facilitate information capture for development systems on production environment.
•    Support the squad in resolving any technical or functional challenges.
•    Be key point of escalation for risk resolution.
•    Assist in steering committee preparation, including presenting to senior stakeholders and ensure appropriate reporting, governance and control functions are implemented.  
•    Lead our Agile Culture:  Coach teams in the mind-shift towards working in an Agile manner, ensure alignment against Agile best practice whilst driving business outcomes, contribute to our Continuous Delivery culture.
 
 
About you and your skills

•    5+ years’ experience strategizing and maintaining large programs of work 
•    4 years’ experience as an Iteration Manager or similar in agile environments 
•    In-depth practical and demonstrable experience working in an Iteration Manager role in an Agile environment. 
•    Strong understanding of Agile principles and purpose 
•    Self-motivation, mentoring and leadership skills
•    Minimum Bachelor’s degree or equivalent 
•    Market knowledge and experience in the delivery and management of retail and technology solutions 
•    Excellent skills in leading a team including coaching, having difficult conversations, and providing feedback. 
•    Comfortable resolving conflict and able to facilitate discussion on alternatives and different approaches. 
•    Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. 
•    Analytical mindset, with the ability to identify and solve problems in a proactive and efficient manner. 
•    Understanding of team capability and capacity and effective prioritisation for managing delivery of customer demand 
•    Professional Scrum Master accreditations highly desirable
