About the role 

As an Insights & Analytics Technical Lead, you will be a part of a dynamic, impactful team of professionals supporting Coles' long-term initiatives.


  • As the Insights & Analytics Technical Lead, will be creative, organized, and partner with key stakeholders to understand business needs to tackle problems, visualise data, and communicate simply.
  • You'll have experience facilitating cross-functional projects using advanced data modelling and analysis techniques to discover insights that will guide strategic decisions and uncover optimization opportunities.
  • You’ll distil information into actionable insights and interpret and Communicate results and business impacts of insight initiatives to stakeholders 
  • Build, develop and maintain data models, reporting systems, data automation systems, dashboards and performance metrics that support key business decisions
  • Manage and optimise processes for data intake, validation, mining and engineering as well as modelling, visualisation and communication deliverables



About you and your skills

A relevant tertiary qualification in technology, business information management or other data related qualifications in addition you'll have;


  • Proven experience deploying business analytics tools and visualisation solutions support business decision process
  • Demonstrated success applying Power BI or equivalent analytics tool to deliver insights
  • Working knowledge of tools for ETL and management of data (e.g., SQL Server, Python)
  • Ability to interpret business problems and translate them into data project
  • Ability to translate outputs of data projects into actionable insights that can be communicated to key stakeholders
  • Experience in agile project delivery is a plus
  • Proven ability to deal with ambiguity, complexities, and high-level information
  • Self-starter who displays tolerance, innovation, creativity, decisiveness, 
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and storytelling skills
  • Highly effective verbal and written communication skills
