Our Coles Liquor team work across three leading brands (Liquorland, First Choice Liquor Market and Vintage Cellars), each with their own unique offering and customer base. With a network of more than 930 stores and ultra-convenient online sites, delivering on our commitment to provide accessible drink solutions for every occasion.
About the role
Head of Strategy, Stores & Innovation is a newly created role and will report into our General Manager Transformation and Strategy. No two days will be the same in this exciting role where you’ll showcase your ability to deliver significant transformation programs, develop and execute strategic projects and embed transformational change programs.
You will partner with key internal stakeholders at the General Manager and Executive levels and be required to:
- Assess strategic opportunities to drive financial performance and provide thought leadership to evolve business strategy through data driven insights
- Support the Liquor strategy delivery through end-to-end governance, including capital approvals, communication, reporting and resource management
- Play an active role in translating strategic concepts into impactful Liquor projects, initiatives and transformation programs
- Lead continuous innovation to enhance customer experience, merchandise solutions and instore operations
- Provide accountability for the overall business transition from 3-to-1 brands (known as ‘Simply Liquorland’)
- Manage PMO delivery for all format related to delivery, including new space, renewal and innovation delivery
About you and your skills
You will be seen as a thought leader with the ability to bring ideas to the table. Your experience will be ideally gained in a Retail or FMCG environment where you can inspire and enable a customer-focused culture.
You will also have:
- 10+ years’ experience in an advanced management role with knowledge of project management principles, approach and methodologies
- Proven ability to balance external expertise with internal ownership to ensure sustainable outcomes and build in-house capability
- Strong ability to navigate through complexity and a dynamic environment whilst embodying a level of confidence
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide support at various levels of the business
- Demonstrated ability to quickly grasp new concepts and situations
- Experience leading a large team of professionals focuses on delivering high quality and commercially beneficial business outcomes
