Coles is reimagining the future of in‑store eCommerce fulfilment and we’re looking for a strategic, systems‑minded Group Product Manager to lead this transformation. This is a rare opportunity to shape how millions of Australians receive their online grocery orders, while driving meaningful improvements in efficiency, scalability, and customer experience across one of the country’s largest retail networks.
About the role
As online demand continues to grow, in‑store fulfilment is becoming a critical engine of our eCommerce strategy. Your mission is to redesign and simplify how we pick, pack, and stage orders in stores. Creating a model that is more scalable, lower cost, easier for teams to operate, and more customer‑centric.
You’ll lead the end‑to‑end design and delivery of a new operating model, partner across the business to align upstream and downstream processes, and define the technology that powers fulfilment in every store format
What you’ll be doing
Transform in‑store fulfilment
- Redesign and simplify in‑store eCommerce fulfilment processes to unlock profitable growth.
- Lead the design and delivery of a new operating model across pick, pack, and stage workflows.
- Drive innovation in labour efficiency, order accuracy, and customer experience through technology and process design.
- Simplify the management of multiple pick waves and order types to reduce complexity and improve responsiveness.
Build the technology and systems that scale
- Define the software and hardware required to support efficient, customer‑centric fulfilment from supermarket shelves.
- Develop and own the product strategy and roadmap for both current and future fulfilment systems.
- Use data, insights, and customer feedback to inform product decisions and prioritisation.
Partner across the business
- Collaborate with Central Operations to redesign upstream supply chain processes—stock management, location management, replenishment—to align with the new operating model.
- Ensure the fulfilment model integrates seamlessly with upstream and downstream systems across store formats.
- Drive cross‑functional initiatives, manage dependencies, and maintain strong stakeholder alignment.
Lead a high‑performing product team
- Mentor and develop Product Managers, fostering strong product craft, accountability, and team culture.
- Use OKRs to define and measure squad objectives.
- Shape and prioritise the product backlog in alignment with broader strategy.
- Be accountable for squad outcomes and end‑to‑end delivery of initiatives.
- Communicate progress clearly, consistently, and with influence.
What You’ll Bring
- 5+ years’ experience in product, operations, or fulfilment roles within eCommerce, retail, or supply chain environments.
- Proven experience leading cross‑functional teams to design and implement scalable fulfilment or operational models.
- Strong background in process design, simplification, and challenging legacy ways of working.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver measurable improvements in efficiency, accuracy, or customer experience.
- Skilled in using data and customer insights to guide product and process decisions.
- Comfortable operating in fast‑paced, ambiguous environments with evolving priorities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Product Management Excellence
- Ability to define and communicate a clear product vision, strategy, and roadmap.
- Experience gathering, managing, and prioritising product requirements across multiple squads.
- Strong collaboration with engineering, experience, and marketing teams to ensure business case and customer outcomes are met.
- Deep commitment to listening to customers and solving meaningful customer problems.
Governance, Compliance & Commercial Accountability
- Protect and enhance Coles’ reputation with customers, stakeholders, regulators, and media.
- Ensure personal and team compliance with internal policies, the Coles Code of Conduct, and all relevant laws and industry standards.
- Embed compliance requirements into planning and day‑to‑day practices.
- Maintain strong governance across areas of responsibility, including reporting and managing compliance incidents.
- Ensure team members receive appropriate compliance training and development.
- Be accountable for the commercial outcomes delivered by each Product Manager in your team.
Leadership at Coles
