About the role
A newly created role, reporting in the Governance and Reporting Manager, for a Governance Advisor to support the transformation and implementation of risk management and governance across the Coles Group.


Please note this role is a 24-month fixed term full time opportunity.


What you'll be doing

 Working closely with the broader Risk and Compliance team, you play a key role in supporting the team to build, implement and monitor adherence with the following frameworks and policies: Group Risk Management, Third Party Risk Management, Policy Governance and Conflict of Interest. Conduct maturity assessments and benchmarks of these frameworks to identify areas for improvement.


You’ll also be:

  • Identifying requirements for technology solutions to support implementation of aforementioned Frameworks (e.g., GRC, CoI, SAP Ariba); extracting data and information for monitoring and reporting purposes. Focus on uplifting identification of key controls and ongoing control assessment. 
  • Developing communications and training programs to support implementation of the frameworks.
  • Supporting the Governance and Reporting Manager by writing, preparing and coordinating risk, compliance and governance reports for Board, Audit & Risk Committee and Group Executive.
  • Facilitating and coordinating the Coles enterprise risk assessment, and ongoing reporting and update of Coles Group material risks.
  • Managing relationships and working with other second line and third line of defence functions, to identify opportunities to align and standardise risk, compliance and governance frameworks and programs, including development and maintenance of a risk and assurance map.
  • Supporting the Governance and Reporting Manager by preparing and coordinating risk, compliance and governance reports for Board, Audit & Risk Committee and Group Executive.
  • Facilitating and coordinating the Coles enterprise risk assessment, and ongoing reporting and update of Coles Group material risks.


Good things you’ll need

  • Demonstrated experience in enterprise risk management within ASX listed companies
  • Strong knowledge in in designing and applying risk, compliance and governance frameworks in business activities and processes.
  • Proven experience in coordinating and preparing Executive and Board level reports.. Proven capabilities in analysing, interpreting, presenting and reporting complex information.
  • Knowledge of Governance Risk and Compliance (‘GRC’) technology platforms is beneficial but not essential.
  • Strong project management skills, process improvement mindset and high attention to detail
  • Proven report writing and communication skills.
  • Exceptional senior stakeholder engagement and interpersonal skills with well-developed communication and influencing abilities.
  • Ability to effectively manage competing priorities and complete tasks/projects in a timely manner and to a high standard
  • Tertiary degree in risk management, finance, economics, law, engineering or relevant discipline.
