About the role
A newly created role, reporting in the Head of Group Risk, the primary objective of the role is to act as the Governance, risk management and compliance subject matter expert (SME) developing strategy and driving transformation of governance across Coles Group.


This role is accountable for preparing Coles Group Board and Audit and Risk Committee reports across Risk and Compliance, including developing and operationalising supporting process to simplify and strengthen reporting outputs; delivering concise, insightful, consistent and effective reporting that meets Board standards.


You are also accountable for developing and delivering a framework for Coles Group wide policies and supporting compliance frameworks for Legal functional polices. Conducts maturity assessments and benchmarks of these frameworks and policies to identify areas for improvement, enhancement and simplification.


What you'll be doing

  • Accountable for leading the enterprise (Group-wide) risk assessment including management of the Coles Group risk profile
  • Accountable for developing and delivering a framework for Coles Group wide policies and supporting compliance frameworks for Legal functional polices
  • ELT, Board and Audit and Risk Committee report drafting and associated insights presentations
  • Analyses of group wide data to identify themes and derive key insights
  • Develop and operationalise reporting processes to simplify and strengthen reporting output
  • Designs and implements supporting compliance framework to deliver compliance with Legal owned policies, including introduction and operationalisation of technology


Good things you’ll need

  • Proven enterprise risk management experience with ASX listed companies
  • Advanced skills and proven experience in reporting, report drafting, reporting design and process and proven capabilities in analysing, interpreting, presenting and reporting complex information
  • Advanced skills in designing, developing and operationalising risk, compliance and governance frameworks in business activities and processes
  • Wide understanding of Governance Risk and Compliance (‘GRC’) technology platforms
  • Proven experience developing relationships and engaging regularly with a variety of stakeholders, including senior managers in a challenging environment
  • Excellent risk technical skills and acumen and aptitude for process improvement
  • Commercial awareness and ability to develop a strategic framework and vision
  • Ability to effectively manage competing priorities and complete tasks/projects in a timely manner and to a high standard
  • Tertiary degree in risk management, finance, economics, law, engineering or relevant discipline
