About the role

The Group Insurance team is a significant part of the Coles finance, incorporating fund management, workers compensation, litigation and Corporate insurance placement and management.  The team works across all brands of the business providing insurance guidance and advice. 

An exciting new opportunity exists for a General Insurance Business Partner to join Coles Group Insurance.

 

Reporting to the General Insurance Manager, you will be provide insurance-based risk management services, advice and guidance to all Coles brands.  

 

What you’ll be doing

On a day-to-day basis this role will see you partner with the business to understand insurance risk financing requirements and ensure effective coverage, including the provision of timely, accurate and useful insurance insights. You will support the design and implementation of all aspects of the Group’s external insurance program, particularly the engagement with external stakeholders, and leading the renewal price validation and testing.

 

You’ll also:

  • Advise the business on insurance and indemnity requirements within contracts
  • Provide guidance and technical support to Brands
  • Assist the General Insurance Manager to plan and deliver Business Unit workshops as required
  • Manage and lead the Risk Engineering program
  • Lead the claims management to understand the claims data and presenting it in a format for insurers to understand – ultimately assisting with the placement of policies
  • Monitor and review regulatory, legislative, legal precedent and industry developments and understand their impact on the group’s risk insurance program
  • Assist and support the General Insurance Manager on major Projects within the business

 

Good things you’ll need

A strong result driven professional with a demonstrated experience in an insurance role within a similar industry. You’ll have strong knowledge of insurance and / or risk management concepts including pricing and underwriting aspects and program design.

 

You’ll also need

  • Understanding of key regulatory and statutory insurance obligations
  • An understanding of risk financial concepts and risk management principals relating to insurance
  • Strong working knowledge of project management principals
  • Advanced level experience with MS Office
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to engage senior stakeholders
  • Tertiary qualifications in commerce, business, risk management or insurance will be highly desirable #LI-BU
