About the role


Our Finance team partner with every area of our business and ensure commercial thinking feeds into everything we do. By working across every team, we look at how we’re performing and provide useable insights to support strategic business decisions. With Australian 2019 ‘CFO of The Year’ Leah Weckert steering our team, we set up our customers and people for success through good commercial sense.


What you'll be doing


In this role you will manage the end to end accounting activities for AASB16 for Coles Group, including the delivery of month-end close processes to derive P&L, balance sheet and cash flow impacts of AASB16. In addition, you will be responsible for the forecasting, budgeting and corporate planning for AASB16 and support financial accounting activities (including month end close activities) for Coles Group. You will need to build strong relationships with Finance GMs, GM Treasury, Head of Group Planning and Property in a trusted advisor capacity and provide on the job training and coaching of team members.


Good things you'll need


We’re after a highly skilled professional with considerable experience.


You’ll also need:

  • a CA/CPA qualification with post qualification experience
  • significant experience in an external audit role and/or a financial control/external reporting role within an organisation with strong technical skills
  • experience or exposure to the implementation and/or accounting for AASB16 would be preferred
  • experience working with large corporates, retail or listed companies would be preferred but not essential
  • experience collaborating and coordinating with a broad range of stakeholders across a business
