About the Role
We have a brand-new role available for an experienced Financial Accountant to join our Reporting & Governance Team. This role will be responsible for the delivery of financial accounting activities (including month end close activities) for Payroll Finance, and be the primary liaison with Commercial Finance and Group Planning teams to ensure consistency of month-end messaging.
You will also;
- Deliver Balance Sheet reconciliations for payroll in line with Balance Sheet Policy
- Deliver financial controls governance testing for payroll as required under Financial Controls Governance program
- Deliver key financial accounting activities that support financial integrity for Payroll, including support of accruals and debtors, and liabilities for employee entitlements
- Completion of commentary on results, cash flow and working capital (act v. bud/outlook)
- Support business and internal stakeholders on ad-hoc projects requiring financial/technical accounting assistance and/or involvement (i.e. new business opportunities / initiatives, knowledge sharing, accounting advice etc)
About you and your skills
We are looking for a driven accountant with previous experience in a financial control or external audit role, a strong understanding of financial reporting compliance requirements, accounting standards, and procedures, and an inquisitive mind that enjoys big data and problem solving.
You will also ideally have;
- CA/CPA or similar business qualification or near with commercial awareness and business focus
- Experience in the Retail/FMCG sectors, big four or mid-tier firms will be highly regarded
- Knowledge of SAP or TM1 advantageous
