About the role

 

The Finance Data Analyst - Data & Systems Optimisation will resolve data integrity issues across contracts, people data, and project data, while establishing seamless linkages between Apptio and source systems. You’ll enable the Tech Finance team to deliver clear, accurate, and meaningful reporting by ensuring consistency and connectivity across platforms. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Maintain clean, consistent data across contracts, people data, projects, and financial records
  • Build and manage reliable data linkages between Apptio and source systems
  • Monitor data quality, flag issues early, and implement corrective actions
  • Translate business requirements into structured, accurate data models and workflows
  • Analyse datasets to surface insights that improve financial clarity
  • Support reporting cycles by ensuring upstream data is complete and accurate
  • Enhance data validation, governance, and documentation across Tech Finance
  • Streamline and automate data processes to improve efficiency and reliability

 

About you and your skills

 

You bring strong analytical capability, a passion for data accuracy, and an ability to work across complex systems and stakeholder groups. You’ll ideally have:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Commerce, Finance, Accounting, Data Analytics, or similar.
  • Demonstrated experience in a finance analytics, or data role within a retail or listed environment.
  • Sound working knowledge of fundamental accounting principles.
  • Practical experience supporting or reviewing reconciliations.
  • Understanding of prepayments, accruals, and how they are established and monitored.
  • Experience ensuring financial data accuracy across contracts, projects, cost centres, and people-related cost allocations.
  • Experience supporting financial reporting cycles and validating upstream data inputs.
  • Strong analytical capability with advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience working across complex financial systems and large datasets.
  • Understanding of data governance frameworks within a finance context.
