Our Finance team are a vital partner in every aspect of our business, providing commercial insights to drive our success and influence everything we do. With presence in every department, we analyse performance, and deliver actionable insights that shape our strategic decisions.

About the role

 

As the Finance Business Partner - Pricing, you will partner with senior commercial leaders to shape Coles’ Pricing & Value strategy, delivering financial insights and commercial decision support that enhances customer value and business performance, your key responsibilities will include:

 

  • Partner with the senior stakeholders across Pricing & Value to influence strategic pricing and value initiatives across the business.
  • Deliver commercial insights that optimise price investment, promotional effectiveness and customer outcomes.
  • Lead financial modelling, scenario planning and investment appraisals for key strategic decisions.
  • Monitor and evaluate pricing performance across sales, volume, margin, EBIT and market share metrics.
  • Identify risks, opportunities and emerging trends to strengthen financial outcomes and business performance.
  • Provide clear, data driven recommendations that support executive and commercial decision making.
  • Drive best practice forecasting, reporting and governance across pricing investment activity.
  • Champion continuous improvement through process simplification, automation and enhanced commercial insights.

 

About you and your skills

 

You are a commercially minded finance professional who enjoys influencing senior stakeholders and is passionate for turning complex data into meaningful business outcomes. You will also bring:

 

  • CA, CPA or equivalent qualifications coupled with strong commercial finance experience within retail, FMCG or a similarly complex environment.
  • Proven ability to partner with and influence senior leaders to drive strategic outcomes.
  • Demonstrated experience navigating ambiguity and building clarity. 
  • Advanced financial modelling, forecasting and commercial analysis capability.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to present compelling insights and tell a clear story.
  • Strategic thinking combined with strong commercial acumen and problem solving skills.
