We have a great opportunity for an experienced Finance Business Partner supporting our Supermarket Sustainability and Property Services team. With a team of over 400 our finance team offers large scope for personal development and career opportunities. Working with key business units you will gain insight in to how our business runs and be part of key strategic initiatives. 

 

About the Role 

 

As Finance Business Partner you will be a trusted adviser to the Commercial Store Operations team and be responsible for the financial stewardship of Coles’ inhouse trolley and cleaning business. The role requires a working knowledge of planning, business partnering, business case preparation and financial control skills.

 

You’ll also:  
 

  • Provide regular commercial updates on performance, outlook, risks & opportunities and progress on key initiatives across Coles Services Conduct reporting and communicate monthly and weekly performance with Merchandise Transformation leadership team and the business units
  • Partner with operators to maintain effective cost control on key supermarket expenses through P&L management.
  • Business case development for projects including capital request and other ad hoc projects
  • Understand and analyse drivers of spend, as well as contract terms to identify opportunities for cost savings
  • Educate and influence account owners and liaise with 3rd party suppliers as appropriate
  • Validate the delivery of process-led and procurement-led productivity to realise cost savings, improve process and enhance customer experience
     

About You and Your Skills 
 

We are looking for a passionate and energetic Finance Business Partner who has the ability to identify key commercial opportunities and provide analytical insight. 

 

You’ll also need: 
 

  • Ability to simplify a complex financial story and communicate effectively to operators 
  • Demonstrated commercial acumen, with exposure to delivering successful outcomes in commercial environments
  • Proven ability to interrogate data and financial systems to extract and manipulate data, and upload budgets and forecasts
  • Efficient, TM1, SAP and advanced Excel skills to analyse and summarise high volumes of data. Proficient user of pivot tables, vlookups, sumifs.
  • PowerPoint user, able to effectively present findings of deep dive analytics and monthly performance reviews
  • CPA/CA qualification highly regarded
