About the Role 

 

Own Brand is over a third of Coles’ sales and a key strategic differentiator that helps make Coles a Destination for Food and Drink. Finance and OB work side-by-side to achieve commercial, product, sustainability and quality goals and take great pride in doing so.  

 

Reporting to the Own Brand Finance manager, this role is a key partnering role to the GM Own Brand as well as Head-ofs: Quality, Responsible Sourcing, Innovation and Transformation. This role also assists with commercials across Own Brand within the BUs and helps provide updated to Investor Relations and Commercial LT. 

 

You will also:

  • Review Own Brand sales and margin to help leadership understand the story while also highlighting risks and opportunities
  • Develop and maintain robust processes to measure and track the financial and operational benefits of Projects (including capital requests) , CODB and sales reporting
  • Conduct evaluations to compare actual outcomes against planned targets, providing actionable insights across projects, CODB and sales
  • Lean into board requests and investor reporting to assist in highlight OB as a strategic initiative
  • Facilitate alignment with senior leadership to secure buy-in for budgets, QBR, priorities and initiatives
  • Act as a bridge between operational teams and leadership, ensuring all stakeholders are informed of financial risks and opportunities
  • Act as a key contributor in shaping strategies by leveraging market trends, data and financial expertise

 

 

About you and your skills 

 

We are looking for a Finance Business Partner with a continuous improvement mindset and track record of execution. This role is best suited to someone with a curiosity for finding the root cause of commercial results and telling the story to management while also being aware of risks and opportunities to further the Own Brand business.

 

You will also have:

  • CA/CPA or equivalent and relevant tertiary qualification desirable
  • Experience with commercial results (sales, margin etc)
  • Experience in a finance role, ideally in retail/FMCG and/or a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience producing and presenting insightful commercial and financial reports and making recommendations.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and a willingness to help lend your financial expertise to non-financial partners.
