<h3>About the Role</h3>


Are you a highly analytical finance professional with a passion for influencing commercial decisions? Do you thrive in a fast-paced retail or FMCG environment? We are seeking a talented Finance Business Partner to join our Supermarkets team and make a significant impact on our Total Loss operations.

 

As a Finance Business Partner for Operations, you will play a crucial role in supporting our Operations and Merchandise teams. Your primary objective will be to provide insightful, fact-based financial analysis and commercial decision-making support to help manage and minimise total loss across our business.

 

You will also;

  • Monitor store performance against targets and identify & manage risks and opportunities
  • Manage the annual store budget and monthly forecasting process
  • Prepare period-end reporting, explaining variances to budget/forecasts and identifying key trends, risks, and opportunities
  • Provide insightful, fact-based financial performance reviews to business stakeholders on a timely basis
  • Support business planning/forecasting models and reporting tools
  • Support stakeholders with fact-based financial analysis, articulating the impact of commercial decisions
  • Proactively automate, simplify, and improve business operational reporting tools.
  • Identify and quantify activities that may impact forecasts, with risks and opportunities understood and measured
  • Appraise investments and perform post-investment reviews
  • Communicate clearly and succinctly, focusing on analysis, insights, implications, and simplicity of message

 


<h3>About you and your skills</h3> 
 

We’re looking for a strong financial business partnering background, ideally within the retail/FMCG remit. You’ll have excellent interpersonal and communication skills with proven ability to educate financial and non-financial stakeholders, as well as be comfortable challenging and influencing key stakeholders and working cross-functionally to deliver what’s required.

 

You will also ideally have; 

  • CA/CPA or similar, with commercial awareness and business focus
  • Financial experience in a retail/FMCG/complex environment desirable
  • Experience in developing business cases to support large-scale financial investment
  • Excellent data manipulation and analytical skills
