What you’ll be doing


The Enterprise Architect - Supply Chain is expected to have a thorough understanding of complex IT systems and stay up to date with the latest supply chain trends, emerging technologies, market providers and their offerings. In addition they should be mindful of cyber security and end user security approaches industry best practices.


Their key purpose is to partner with the various business units and key stakeholders in Transportation, Logistics and Warehousing as well as engineering, and operations teams to define strategy and execution paths, to understand and mitigate risk, and to deliver the outcomes the business needs.


A special area of focus is the uplift of the Supply Chain at Coles Group to modern Cloud and SaaS platforms and to identify and automate the manual processes around logistics, planning and fright management. Additionally you’ll define transport, replenishment and warehouse automation, general technology strategy and architecture in line with Coles Group strategy.


Other areas of focus will include delivery approaches and governance across the company aswell as setting strategy and theexecution of productivity tools and architecture services for Coles staff. 


Key to the role will be to:


  • Lead a number of team members, including Solution and Infrastructure Architects, to scope and execute work; influence, record and minimise technical debt, and mitigate/migrate shadow IT practises.
  • Conduct market scans and RFP’s; in conjunction with procurement, manage vendors management and help the business to frame problem statements
  • Work across Supply Chain technology programs of work covering distribution, logistics, transportation, and replenishment.
  • Collaborate with key business and IT stakeholders on Supply Chain strategy and future roadmap planning for supply chain platforms.
  • Shape and guide the planning and delivery of multi-year, business critical programmes with a technology and transformation focus
  • Partner with the Supply Chain technology function to grow trust and reputation resulting in the ability to influence decision making


Good things you’ll need


  • Extensive knowledge of supply chain technology and physical supply chain processes
  • An understanding of distribution and logistics practices across supply chain models
  • Experiences in Transport & Logistics systems, Warehousing systems, especially automated warehouses, and distribution systems.
  • Knowledge of ecommerce, fulfilment methods, replenishment, 3PL or general retail/Fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG)
  • Experiences translating strategic business needs to desired technology architectures and deliverables.
  • Experiences contributing and supporting governance forums and key decision making processes
  • Understanding of the Retail industry, challenges, commerciality, operations, and organisation
