About the team
Our Technology team is the backbone of the business, building and maintaining the information technology infrastructure that support Coles Group. As a part of the Technology team, you get the opportunity to work through complex, challenging, meaningful problems using large data sets and new technologies to expand your skills and experience.
About the role
Our Coles 360, Loyalty and Customer team is looking for an Engineering Manager to be a leader across multiple engineering squads. You’ll provide leadership, coaching, support and act as an enabler to your teams. You’ll help deliver and execute whilst bringing a ‘you build it, you own it’ mentality.
You will
- You will manage 2-3 squads of engineers that will collaborate to deliver solutions that are aligned with Coles’ business objectives.
- You will mentor, motivate and support the people in your squads.
- You will contribute to the roadmap and technical direction of the product.
- You will act as a service custodian of the solutions.
- You will be accountable for individual and team compliance with company values, policies, and procedures (including Coles Code of Conduct) and all applicable external laws and regulations.
- You will unblock the team and enable them to deliver product initiatives.
- You will own and take accountability for the services within your squads
You’ll have
- A minimum of 4 years' experience leading engineering teams and delivering large programs of work.
- A minimum of 6 years' experience in product development teams.
- Experience with Java, .NET or similar technologies.
- Experience in working with large complex and high traffic environments.
- Experience to coach squads using agile methodologies and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Tertiary qualifications in a technology engineering discipline such as computer science, information systems engineering, etc.
- Strong stakeholder management skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Market knowledge and experience of delivery and management of technology solutions
