About the team
Our Technology team is the backbone of the business, building and maintaining the information technology infrastructure that support Coles Group. As a part of the Technology team, you get the opportunity to work through complex, challenging, meaningful problems using large data sets and new technologies to expand your skills and experience.
About the role:
The role of the Engineering Manager is to support the adoption, evolution, and maintenance of the Engineering capability within a group of platforms and technologies, to maximise agility, accelerate speed, and unlock efficiencies. As a leader, you will drive innovation by encouraging members to challenge the status quo and align to the Quality Engineering & Environments Centre for Enablement.
About you and your skills:
- At least 15 years’ experience in the automation, development and testing fields.
- At least 8 years senior or managerial IT experience, as an Engineering Manager or Delivery Manager of digital products in an agile environment, with experience delivering large programs of work, including operation support.
- Demonstrated experience in implementing technical solutions in large scale, complex and distributed environments.
- Advanced understanding of all aspects of the technology’s broader operational environment (i.e., processes, procedures, associated toolsets, operating systems, etc.).
- Strong Manual and Automated testing experience, including demonstrated success with implementing Automated Testing solutions
- Demonstrated experience with a variety of licenced and open-source automation tools, frameworks, scripting languages (e.g. UFT, RestAssured, Selenium, SpecFlow, Appium, Cucumber, C#, JavaScript, Ruby, Java etc)
- Experience with the agile development process and developing code in alignment with coding standards and business processes.
- Demonstrated experience managing automated testing, both in terms of process and tools (e.g., Microfocus ALM, Jira, Microsoft Test Manager, etc).
- Demonstrated experience with creating Behaviour Driven Development (BDD) and Test-Driven Development (TDD) test automation frameworks compatible with diverse technology stacks.
- Demonstrated experience with testing aspects of DevOps including IaC for continuous testing purposes using tools such as Bamboo, Jenkins or AzureDevOps.
- Solid understanding of engineering principles, products, and services in a hybrid cloud environment, with a technical background.
- A proven track record in people management and experience in building and leading teams
- Proven capabilities in vendor, partner and stakeholder relationship management including the negotiation and management of outsource agreements and delivery to agreed service levels.
- Demonstrated success in enabling the launch of high quality and business critical products, in a complex enterprise production environment
