Our Technology team is the backbone of the business, building and maintaining the information technology infrastructure that support Coles Group. As part of the broader Technology team, our supply chain replenishment team partners with the business to deliver efficiency and innovation for Coles as the leading retail supply chain network in Australia. 
We deliver value through quality technology solutions that simplify our distribution and transport businesses. Our platform includes over 40 tools and applications used by our distribution and transport team members daily, including business critical applications. 


As the Domain Architect for Replenishment & Forecasting, you will be responsible for defining and maintaining the architectural vision and roadmap for the replenishment and forecasting domain. 

 

About the role


This role plays a critical part in shaping the future of our technology platforms, ensuring they align with enterprise architecture principles and business objectives. You will lead the translation of strategic goals into target and transitional state architectures, identifying risks, opportunities, and technical debt within the domain.

You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including product, engineering, QA, operations, and DevOps to ensure architectural integrity and scalability. Your leadership will guide solution architects and engineering teams in implementing design patterns and technology standards that support high-performing, secure, and resilient systems.

This role also involves representing the domain in enterprise-wide planning and governance forums, staying abreast of emerging technologies, and driving innovation. 
You will play a key role in large-scale transformation initiatives such as cloud migration and legacy modernization and contribute to the strategic direction of the organisation through architectural governance and agile delivery practices.


Prior experience in replenishment systems or processes is highly desirable, as it enables strategic alignment with business objectives and enhances domain leadership.

 

About you and your skills


•10+ years in technology architecture roles, including experience as a lead or enterprise architect in complex, enterprise environments. 
• Proven experience defining domain or enterprise-level architecture strategies and roadmaps and aligning them to business priorities and enterprise goals. 
• Experience leading delivery of large-scale transformation initiatives, including legacy modernisation, platform consolidation and cloud migration. 
• Demonstrated experience in influencing and implementing strategic planning and organisational structure, including operating models and functional designs, and enabling enterprise objective alignment. 
• Demonstrated leadership in architectural governance, design authority and standards definition, embedding architecture effectively within agile delivery environments. 
• Extensive experience designing scalable, secure and integrated platforms or systems across multiple technologies and architectural styles (e.g. microservices, event-driven, cloud-native).
 • Strong track record of influencing senior technology and business stakeholders, driving consensus across competing priorities and achieving alignment. 
• Demonstrated ability to work in federated or matrixed architectural environments, collaborating effectively across domain and enterprise boundaries. 
• Proven impact in optimising cost, risk and value outcomes through architectural decision making
• Deep expertise in architecture frameworks and practices, such as TOGAF, Zachman, or similar – formal certification is advantageous. 
• Strong understanding of cloud architecture (AWS, Azure, GCP), SaaS integration, enterprise integration, data flows, API management and security architecture. 
• Solid knowledge of data architecture and governance principles, including regulatory and compliance considerations in enterprise environments. 
• Excellent systems thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to assess complex technology landscapes and design fit-for-purpose solutions.
 • Highly effective communicator, able to convey architectural vision to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
 • Skilled at navigating ambiguity, balancing long-term architectural vision with immediate delivery needs and mentoring others in applying architectural practise
