Store Development is redefining retail design. Our team is constantly challenging possibilities. We work with innovative formats and concepts to connect with customers and enhance their in-store experiences, no matter the size or layout of our stores.

About the role

 

Reporting into the Format Improvement Manager, you will be the go-to person representing Store Design & Development on documentation, stepping up as necessary to support the delivery of key format projects such as Simplified Stores.

 

You will:

  • Deliver scheme plans, design detailing and written briefs in line with CIO brief

  • Review and update the new stores written design brief, leading cross functional working groups to drive flexibility and simplification to deliver best value and scope

  • Manage external consultants required to deliver design documentation and format layouts for all projects typically working within a budget

  • Be flexible supporting multiple managers and team in accordance with business needs

  • Provide architectural and technical advice relating to concept and project plans and written briefs

  • Manage external consultants and developers to deliver planning and documentation outcomes for Store Design and Development Team

 

About you and your skills

 

We are looking for someone who is tertiary qualified, preferably in Architecture or Construction or ideally has 2-3 years’ experience in technical architectural drafting from a retail or FMCG background.

 

You’ll also have:

  • High level of retail planning experience with some design, commercial or financial understanding (desirable)

  • Ability to work with design colleagues on how to best implement design in simple and complex stores

  • Ability to work with construction consultants including architects, engineers and quantity surveyors

  • Strong documentation skills

  • Sound working knowledge of Revit, CAD and Adobe Suite

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships with various peers and stakeholders

  • The ability to identify issues, problem solve and be results focused
