About the team

 

Our Technology team is the backbone of the business, building and maintaining the information technology infrastructure that support Coles Group. As a part of the Technology team, you get the opportunity to work through complex, challenging, meaningful problems using large data sets and new technologies to expand your skills and experience.

About the role:

 

Enterprise Engineering delivers integration solutions to all Coles' Technology domains aligned to delivery roadmaps.  Our team is on the lookout for a Demand and Estimations Lead to partner with our Technology teams to define, plan, estimate and initiate new work.

With a focus on delivering business value, you will be the primary interface for all technology domains to request outcomes from Enterprise Engineering, identify funding and resource requirements and ensure teams are set up for success to deliver.  Your experience in scoping and shaping initiatives, relationship management and planning skills will enable you to successfully manage the flow fo demand and sequence it through to the delivery teams.

This role will manage all aspects of the demand management process from small initiatives through to major strategic programs, working across multiple functions such as Stores, Corporate, Supply Chain and more.

As the Demand and Estimations Lead you will be reporting to the Delivery Manager, Enterprise Engineering, to manage the demand and estimation process. You’ll also be part of the leadership tea, supporting continuous improvements in how we work and deliver for our customers.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary engagement interface for Enterprise Engagement
  • Partner with requesting technology teams to scope, shape and plan new initiatives including:
    • Define the integration needs
    • Identify teams and resources required to  deliver the solution e.g. Technology teams, external vendors etc
    • Define the scope and delivery approach (in collaboration with the overall IT deli9cery lead)
    • Identify funding and resource requirements
    • Develop a High Level delivery plan
    • Lead business case socialisation and submission processes
    • Ensure compliance with governance processes
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with business & technology teams, including GMs and Heads Of
  • Obtain and maintain an understanding of current and future initiatives, plans and needs (pipeline)
  • Maintain resource capacity trackers based on committed plans and demand

 

About you and your skills:

  • 5+ years experience in a Senior Business Analyst role or similar showing evidence of scoping and shaping early-stage initiatives
  • Experience in estimating the costs of delivery and developing business cases
  • Experience creating delivery plans and managing concurrent pieces of work
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills
  • Proficient JIRA, Confluence, and Excel
  • Experience in integration delivery would be desirable
  • Ability to apply strategic / critical thinking
  • Experience managing relationships with stakeholders and teams
  • Excellent analytical and problem resolution skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to operate and excel in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment

 

You’ll also need:

  • Previous experience in a similar role, ideally within a large and complex enterprise setting
  • Experience with JIRA, Excel and Confluence
  • A can do attitude and willingness to learn, and drive uplift across our ways of working
