Our Technology team is the backbone of the business, building and maintaining the information technology infrastructure that support Coles Group. As a part of the Technology team, you get the opportunity to work through complex, challenging, meaningful problems using large data sets and new technologies to expand your skills and experience.

Within Enterprise Tech Services, our Portfolio Delivery team is responsible for delivering complex technology transformation programs across Coles. We partner closely with architecture, security, technology delivery, change, finance and our vendor partners to turn strategy and business cases into successful outcomes.

It’s an environment with significant scale, complexity and opportunity, where strong delivery leadership and collaboration are critical to turning transformation plans into measurable business value.

 

About the role


As Delivery Manager – Enterprise Technology Services, you’ll lead the delivery of a portfolio of medium to high complexity technology programs and projects, taking accountability for successful execution from business case through to transition into BAU and post-implementation review.


You’ll lead a team of Project Managers, creating the capability, governance and ways of working required to deliver effectively across a complex enterprise technology environment. A key part of your role will be connecting technology delivery to business outcomes, tracking benefits and continuously improving delivery performance.

You’ll also:
•    Lead the delivery and governance of major technology transformation programs, balancing scope, schedule, resources, risk and financial outcomes.
•    Lead, coach and develop high-performing delivery teams, building capability and supporting career development.
•    Own financial management across your portfolio, including budgeting, forecasting, expenditure tracking and vendor procurement.
•    Establish robust governance and controls to support cost optimisation and accurate financial management.
•    Partner closely with Technology leaders and key stakeholders to communicate strategy, roadmaps, delivery progress and business value.
•    Manage relationships across internal teams, senior leaders, vendors and delivery partners.
•    Drive continuous improvement across delivery practices, reporting and ways of working.
•    Ensure transformation initiatives deliver measurable benefits and transition effectively into BAU.

 

About you and your skills


You’re an experienced technology delivery leader who knows how to navigate complexity, bring diverse teams together and turn strategy into successful execution. 

You’re comfortable operating across both the technical and commercial dimensions of major transformation programs and can influence senior stakeholders without relying on formal authority.


•    At least 10 years IT experience, as a Project Manager, Delivery Manager, Program Manager, or Consulting role, in a waterfall or an agile environment, with experience delivering large programs of work, as well as         minor works, including project to BAU considerations.
•    Advanced understanding of all aspects of the technology’s broader operational environment (i.e. processes, procedures, associated toolsets, operating systems, etc.).
•    A passionate people leader who has lead members from diverse disciplines and backgrounds, running in multi speed and cadence delivery methods
•    The ability to define and execute strategies that map the technology deliverables to the business goals
•    Expert interpersonal skills and leadership capabilities that enable you to communicate and manage relationships across the organisation – from your reports, peers, vendors and partners, stakeholders to senior             executives
•    Experience using metrics to measure, influence and initiate change and behaviours that directly impact customer success
•    The ability to tell a story, ensuring you can translate complex technical solutions and advice into clear, specific information that is understood by all
•    Proven capabilities in vendor, partner and stakeholder relationship management 
•    Demonstrated success in enabling the launch of high quality and business critical products, in a complex enterprise production environment
•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to influence and persuade outcomes / direction
•    Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
•    Experience managing relationships with senior leaders and stakeholders
•    Excellent analytical and problem resolution skills
•    Minimum Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Information Technology and Systems 
•    Thought leadership in solutioning and high-level architecture / alignment with business strategy
•    Market knowledge and experience in the delivery and management of retail and technology solutions
•    Partner/Vendor management skills 
•    Financial and risk management skills
•    Stakeholder management skills
