About the role
Are you ready to shape the future of last mile delivery at one of Australia’s most iconic brands? We're looking for a hands-on Data Scientist to join our dynamic team and help shape the future of our online network and last mile delivery operations.
As a Data Scientist in our team, you’ll play a pivotal role in delivering commercial analysis and insights across multiple functions. You’ll work closely with stakeholders in operations, planning, network, and fulfilment to uncover opportunities, drive efficiency, and support strategic decision-making
What you’ll do
- Identify and quantify last-mile savings across the network, forecast catchment / zone design based on van and partner capacity
- Build and own robust reporting pipelines from various internal and external data sources
- Deliver dynamic, self-serve dashboards (Power BI/Looker/Tableau) with KPIs such as cost per order, on-time delivery, exceptions and utilisation, with drill-downs to store location/route/customer segments.
- Develop benefit models for business cases: baselines, scenarios and sensitivity analyses; estimate capex/opex, ROI/NPV and track realised benefits versus forecast after rollout.
- Partner with Operations, Product, Finance and Tech to design experiments/pilots, define success metrics, and produce concise readouts; ensure data governance, privacy and security are met
About you
We’re looking for someone who thrives in a hands-on environment and enjoys working end-to-end with data. You’ll be comfortable manipulating large datasets, building scalable solutions, and translating complex findings into clear, commercial recommendations.
- Strong experience in data science, analytics, or commercial analysi
- Coding skills in Python, SQL, and other tools that support data manipulation, analysis, and machine learning
- Proficiency in data engineering and pipeline development
- Ability to build automated reporting tools and dashboards
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills across diverse teams
- A sharp commercial mindset and a passion for uncovering value through data
