About the role

Reporting to the head of Platform Services, Operations & Networks, you will be joining, and leading, a team across Coles’ highly developed state-of-the-art data centres. This role will see you conduct and spearhead a team of seasoned professionals that work and manage a 24/7 – 365 days a year operation to insure a system ready environment. You will deliver ongoing support strategies across the Coles Digital teams and to our external stakeholders, and have experience in data centre operations,  supporting infrastructures such as, generators, UPS, switchboards, and high-voltage substation within a large-scaled business. 


What you’ll be doing

As the Data Centre Operations Manager, you will have extensive experience in managing large-scaled mission-critical Data Centre environments. You bring a positive attitude when solving high-pressure technical issues and have previously developed a dedicated and high-performing team. You have managed IT systems including physical infrastructure such as, cooling and electrical systems. Within your past experiences, you will have developed your ability to communicate complex issues to senior executives in a professional manner and offer ongoing strategic advice to improve performance. 


You’ll also:

  • Experienced in the development of efficient operational processes.
  • Familiar with outsourcing and associated agreements, audit & financial management.
  • Draw from past experiences when developing operational processes.
  • Have refined your skills in financial management including, forecasting and budgeting.


Good things you’ll need

We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Data Centre professional with proven leadership qualities and the ability to manage mission-critical infrastructures across a large-scale business. You will have managed end-to-end data centre environments, developed highly effective teams and engaged and nurtured external venders’ and partners.


You’ll also need

  • Able to work with Legal and Procurement teams in the development of formal documentation,  maintenance agreements,  and KPI management.
  • Capable of presenting to people at various skill level, to garner support for your proposals.
