About the role

 

Serving as the crucial link between management and the board, you will be an integral member of the Company Secretariat function. This role will provide you with a unique blend of legal, project management and interpersonal skills that will equip you well for the future. 

 

You'll exercise your legal mind, hone your managerial skills, and collaborate with diverse teams daily. 

 

 

What you’ll be doing

 

 

Reporting to the Deputy Company Secretary, Head of Company Secretariat, you’ll:

 

•    Build on your technical legal skills, particularly in relation to ASX Listing Rules, remuneration and general Corporations Act matters
•    Gain a unique and strategic insight into the operations and breadth of the business through the Board and Committee program
•    Promote Coles’ internal corporate governance through the provision of Company Secretariat advice and guidance
•    Assist in the preparation of Group Board and Committee papers as well as subsidiary papers, agendas, actions arising, minutes, circular resolutions and other materials as required
•    Maintain board governance documents and charters.

 


About you

 

We’re seeking a candidate with a law degree and inhouse experience ideally in a secretariat and/or governance function.

 

Whether aspiring to enter the company secretariat space or possessing a strong background in listed company governance, you’ll be a people person with strong interpersonal skills, who relishes variety and adapts quickly. 

 

 

You’ll also have:

 

•    Knowledge of the Corporations Act and ASX Listing Rules preferred
•    Confidence handling broad responsibilities in an ASX listed environment
•    Excellent planning, organisation, and time management skills 
•    A high level of integrity, discretion, and confidence.
