<h3>About the Role</h3>

 

Coles is seeking a Business Partner to join our Corporate Development team. In this role, you'll work closely with our lines of business to identify, assess, and execute key corporate transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, divestitures, investments, and other strategic opportunities. You will collaborate closely with the team and relevant internal and external stakeholders on all aspects of potential corporate transactions. 

 

Your key responsibilities will include: 

  • Developing a deep understanding of the competitive landscape and monitoring potential corporate development opportunities for Coles Group. 

  • Assisting with the financial and strategic assessment of potential corporate development opportunities. 

  • Preparing insightful, high -quality analysis and conclusions based on financial and commercial data to support recommendations for key stakeholders. 

  • Providing support during the execution of transactions and other key projects, working alongside senior internal stakeholders and external advisors. 

  • Developing and maintaining relationships with other departments and divisions within Coles Group.

Commercial Skills & Formal Qualifications 

 

To be successful in this role, you will have: 

  • A Commerce, Finance, Accounting or Business degree 

  • Proven financial, analytical and problem -solving capabilities 

  • Deep understanding of corporate finance concepts and valuation methodologies  

  • Highly motivated, with the ability to work independently and with senior stakeholders  

  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to go beyond the numbers to identify key insights 

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written 

 

Work Experience 

  • Experienced analyst or associate (or equivalent) in investment banking, corporate finance / advisory, transaction services or similar 

  • Experience in building detailed financial models, assessing value drivers / capital structures and understanding transaction impacts 

  • Experience in preparing, understanding and analysing financial information to identify and assess business opportunities, both organic and inorganic  

  • Experience in preparing high quality presentations, papers and reports to support key strategic decisions and recommendations
