About the role

 

Reporting to the Senior Commercial Planning Manager, you will support the implementation of overarching commercial strategies by designing and managing a variety of customer-centric commercial programs (from conception to execution).

 

You will partner closely with senior management, business leadership and executives by developing and executing commercial planning strategies and reports that drive business growth and are relevant for stakeholders for the purposes of future decision making.

 

You’ll also:

  • Identify and leverage opportunities, risk and issues impacting commercial performance and profitability

  • Manage cross-functional alignment of strategy and planning processes with other centres of excellence (Supply Chain, Ops, IT, Own Brand, Marketing and Customer Insights), and consolidation of Business Unit plans for review with Business Unit Leadership Teams

  • Play a meaningful role in the annual corporate planning process, including management and tracking of key strategic programmes of work

  • Ensure that commercial needs, requirements and insights are effectively integrated into the development of corporate strategy and corporate plans

  • Advocate for commercial priorities and align them with broader organisational goals and objectives

  • Plan and support the implementation of proposed recommendations and projects to achieve optimal benefits realisation and resource utilisation

 

About you and your skills

 

We are looking for a commercially astute leader with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar commercial planning or strategy role, ideally gained within an FMCG or retail environment.

 

You’ll also have:

  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to negotiate and influence others at various levels of the organisation

  • Demonstrated project management skills

  • Previous experience with implementation of planning improvements, including working with stakeholders to deliver change

  • The ability to proactively problem solve and manage ambiguity

  • Organised and process-oriented, with a drive for continuous improvement
