About the role
We’re on the hunt for a passionate and commercially savvy Category Marketing Manager to take the reins on Coles Best Buys – one of our most exciting and fast-paced marketing programs.
This 12-month fixed term full time contract (or internal secondment) will see you lead campaigns, manage digital platforms, and partner with a talented cross-functional team to deliver exceptional customer experiences and strong business outcomes.

What you’ll do
You’ll own the end-to-end marketing strategy and execution for Coles Best Buys, crafting compelling campaigns that build the brand, surprise and delight our customers, and deliver sales and profit growth.
You’ll also
• Develop and lead weekly themed event campaigns aligned to business priorities
• Partner with Merchandise, Operations, and Marketing teams to deliver engaging customer communications
• Oversee digital channel performance and help evolve the Coles Best Buys platform
• Lead creative agency and internal briefings, ensuring brand consistency and clear campaign objectives
• Drive campaign performance analysis and post-implementation reviews (PIRs)
• Identify opportunities to innovate the category experience and brand proposition
About you and your skills
You’re a hands-on, experienced FMCG or retail marketer with a strong mix of brand and trade marketing under your belt. You know how to bring insights to life, influence stakeholders, and juggle competing priorities. You’re a confident communicator with a sharp eye for execution and a head for commercial outcomes.
You’ll also have
• 5+ years’ experience in brand or retail marketing within FMCG or retail environments
• Tertiary qualifications in marketing, business or a related field
• Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence cross-functionally
• Commercial acumen with proven ability to drive sales and profit targets
• Excellent project and time management capabilities
• A collaborative mindset and natural curiosity to explore new ways to connect with customers
• Experience managing external agencies and marketing budgets.
