For a company as big as ours, the operational and regulatory environment is naturally complex. Our Business Continuity and Response team are trusted advisors to the business and ensure that Coles is able to consistently deliver essential goods to Australians. With a deep understanding of our goals and values, we provide practical and commercial advice when it’s needed most.

 

About the role


This role supports management of the Business Continuity and Response (BCR) function in preparing for and  responding to crisis and other events that disrupt Coles’ operations. You will  support key stakeholders and response leaders (General Manager level) in the effective development and implementation of Business Continuity plans. With the broader BCR team, you will provide action orientated support to Coles Executive Leadership team, Response Leaders and government stakeholders during disruptive incidents to secure the continuity of Coles operations.

 

You’ll also:
•    Support the BCR function in the coordination of crisis and other disruptive events and independently manages minor and moderate activations and incidents with operational and commercial teams.
•    Support response leaders (GM level) and co-ordinators (HO level) in the effective development and implementation of Business Continuity plans.
•    Analyse data to determine emerging BCP risk exposures and lead projects to improve Coles resilience. 
•    Provide support to executives, response leaders and co-ordinators in responding to BCP and crisis level events. 
•    Develop relationships with key external stakeholders involved in the management of BCP events.
•    Facilitate and contribute to the delivery of reporting to the Board and its subcommittees, to Coles Executive and Management, and to various stakeholders across the functions and business units.

 

About you and your skills


We are looking for an action orientated professional who is interested in improving Coles resilience and supporting Coles through its most challenging incidents.  You will also have:

•    Tertiary degree in management, law, finance, economics, IT, engineering or relevant discipline
•    Experience working with an ASX listed company or in resilience and emergency response
•    Proven capabilities in analysing, interpreting, presenting and reporting complex information
•    Proven experience working cross functionally within an organisation
•    Working knowledge of business resilience, governance and risk policies and practices
•    Proven experience engaging regularly with a variety of stakeholders, including senior managers
