About the role
Are you detail-oriented, data-savvy, and passionate about supporting commercial operations through accurate product information? Coles has two permanent opportunities for Business Category Coordinators (BCC) to join our Commercial Data team and play a pivotal role in ensuring the integrity and quality of product data across our retail systems.
Your time will be focussed on the management of all administration duties, as well as supporting the varied business units on data governance and compliance from a commercial data perspective.
You will also:
- Manage a broad range of category master data, responsible for master data creation and updates for a range of categories
- Maintain and enhance Supplier relationships with regards to data quality, including the management of EDI GS1 Supplier data
- Maintain product data in our core Retail Management System (RMS), including SKU induction, modification, and derangement
- Ensure compliance attributes like Unit Pricing, Shelf-life, and Country of Origin are accurate
- Collaborate with Business Unit BCCs, Category Managers, and Suppliers to gather and validate item information
- Support continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance data processes and service delivery
- Support the team with Data Governance and Data Quality tasks
About you and your skills
Our ideal candidate for this role is detail-oriented and proactive with a background in customer service and data entry. You possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, enabling you to build effective relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers. Ideally with a solid understanding of merchandise systems and processes, you are confident navigating platforms like RMS, BIW, and SharePoint, however this isn’t essential. You are self-directed, results-driven, and thrive in a fast-paced environment where accuracy and compliance are key. A curious mindset, intermediate Excel skills, and a passion for continuous improvement make you a valuable contributor to Coles’ Commercial Data team.
