Our Finance team are a vital partner in every aspect of our business, providing commercial insights to drive our success and influence everything we do. With presence in every department, we analyse performance, and deliver actionable insights that shape our strategic decisions.

 

About the role 

 

We have a great opportunity for an experienced Finance Business Analyst to join our Store Development Team. This role will see you supporting the Finance Manager to drive strong commercial decision making, aiding through accurate and efficient reporting on inventory performance, production, manufacturing cost, and management packs.
 
You’ll also;

  • Review and analyse site financial P&L performance with specific focus on direct raw material & labour costs
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of inventory performance, including waste streams tracking; working capital & obsolescence risk; purchase price variances and associated manufacturing cost management
  • Ensuring accuracy and validity of financial metrics & KPIs reported by operational teams 
  • Maintaining strong financial controls and robust practices including relevant balance sheet reconciliations, master data reviews and update of standards
  • Assist with statutory reporting in line with Coles reporting guidelines
  • Assist with the completion of Management reporting pack
  • Assist with the annual and periodic financial planning cycle for the site (timely and accurate planning, budgeting and forecasting
  • Ad-hoc analysis and/or modelling to support decision making by Site Leadership teams

 

 
About you and your skills 

 
You will be able to provide key analytical support and work collaboratively with the Retail Manufacturing team, providing both support and challenge to ensure the best possible business outcomes. Ideally, you will have experience working in an FMCG or food manufacturing environment, or mid-tier firms working with similar clients.

 

You’ll also have: 

  • Experience in a manufacturing accountant or cost accountant role beneficial, but not essential
  • Advanced management reporting skills
  • Proficient systems experience with advanced financial modelling skills
  • Able to identify key information and communicate in a concise and impactful way, both verbal and written (email, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Solid understand of financial statements and key financial metrics
